Phone, SMS and A2P Registration

If you choose to activate and use any phone or text service through enVisioncloud, you will be responsible for all fees and charges associated with the service.  You will be required to add a credit card in your account for associated charges.

The additional fees for phone and SMS use with the enVisioncloud platform are in place to cover the costs associated with providing these services through a third-party service. The fees ensure that users have access to high-quality, reliable, and secure communication services on the enVisioncloud platform.

Each method of communication uses different technologies and resources, resulting in varying costs. For instance, SMS and phone services may involve carrier fees.

What are the phone and SMS costs associated with enVisioncloud CRM?

enVisioncloud CRM collaborates with external network providers to deliver comprehensive phone services directly through your account. The provision of this service may incur costs, which will be determined by your usage of various phone features.

SMS Carrier Fees

Each SMS you send incurs a specific carrier fee that is charged by the network provider, and can vary depending on the carrier of the recipient. For instance, sending a message to a customer using Verizon may cost differently than SMS to one using AT&T, and so on.

IMPORTANT
*As of August 31st, 2023 all SMS and MMS messages sent by businesses to US phone numbers from unregistered 10DLC phone numbers will be fully blocked.  You must register any phone numbers with The Campaign Registry (TRC).

Required A2P Phone Registration

In 2023, phone carriers introduced new industry rules to help cut down on spam. They came together to create a system for registering and keeping track of how businesses use messaging services. If needed, they could also limit these services. This system is called A2P10DLC (Application to Person 10-Digit Long Code). While you could register before, now it's a MUST in the US if you want to use messaging services. 

To use any phone or messaging service in enVisioncloud, you will need to register your account, or else carriers will block your text messages sent through local numbers without A2P approval. Registering helps make sure your messages get delivered properly.

There are two important requirements under the new A2P 10DLC system:

  1. Businesses must identify who they are to the carrier networks (Brand registration).
  2. Businesses must register what type of messages they are sending, i.e. notifications (Campaign registration). 

The cost to register your phone can change based on how you use it and your reputation as a sender. 

enVisioncloud CRM provides you an easy process for registration. You can now register your phone account directly through your enVisioncloud account using the Trust Center.

Answers To The Most Commonly Asked Questions:

What if I don’t want to use Phone or SMS services? 

Don't worry! You can still use all the other features of enVisioncloud CRM. The phone system is just an optional tool in our CRM. So, if you don't want to use it, you absolutely don't have to.

How many phone numbers can I buy? 

You can buy as many phone numbers as you want. But, if you want to register multiple numbers with The Campaign Registry, you'll need an Employer Identification Number (EIN) and complete Standard Registration. If you're a Sole Proprietor (meaning you don't have an EIN), you won't be able to use extra numbers for texting.

Why do I need to register my number? 

The A2P10DLC registration was created to protect you from scams and misuse of the phone system. To weed out scammers and spammers, businesses must register their numbers for SMS communications. This way, the number of texts sent daily can be monitored and limited if necessary.

Why do I need to pay for registration?

The charges for registration come from mobile carriers who monitor your brand. Our service provider charges us these fees, and we pass them on to you. This is a new rule from U.S. phone carriers, and it applies no matter which CRM or SaaS program you're using. 

enVisioncloud CRM is only providing the tools for easy registration and does not profit from these registration fees.

What happens if I don't want to register but need to?

SMS messaging is a great way for your business to stay connected with clients through campaigns, appointment reminders, and general communication. Starting from August 31, 2023, you'll need to register to continue using SMS for your business.

What does A2P mean?

"A2P" stands for "Application-To-Person" Messaging. This refers to the process in which a program, like enVisioncloud CRM, is used to send SMS messages to a person.

Will this impact my monthly subscription? 

No, it won't. The cost of your texts/calls and your monthly subscription fee are billed separately, so one doesn't affect the other.
